Steven Lee McConaughey

Steven Lee McConaughey, 74 of Council Bluffs, Iowa formerly of Glenwood, Iowa passed away October 11, 2023 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born December 1, 1948 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Richard James and Maxine Edna (Tickel) McConaughey. Steven was a resident at Glenwood Resource Center for 72 years.

Steven was an avid participant in Special Olympics, with his favorite events being Bocce, Bowling, Darts, Volleyball and Basketball. Steven also enjoyed going to the circus and Henry Doorly Zoo. Steven loved spending the last few months with his host family going out to eat, attending youth sport practices and games and attending different events in the community!

Preceding Steven in passing were his parents. Survivors include his guardian Diane and her husband Rich Mayhew of Glenwood, Iowa; Host Family Kayla Mayhew and fiancé John Perez, II and their son John Perez, III of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Private Graveside services, Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.
