Ricky Edward Thomas, 66 of Holstein, Iowa formerly of Glenwood, Iowa and Denison, Iowa passed away October 20, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on February 20, 1955 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Elden Edward and Mary Katherine (Murray) Thomas. Ricky faithfully served his country in the Army. He was united in marriage to Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bilsten on June 13, 1998 in Denison, Iowa. To this union one son Zachary David Thomas was born.Ricky was a welder for Gomaco until his retirement.
Preceding Ricky in passing were his father, two brothers Steven Thomas and Eldon Thomas. Survivors include his wife Peggy Thomas of St. Joseph, Missouri; son Zachary Thomas of Glenwood, Iowa; granddaughter Lona Thomas-Bilsten of Sioux City, Iowa; mother Mary (Larry) Davis of Glenwood, Iowa; siblings Lyn Thomas of Essex, Iowa; Cheryl Evans; Sandra (Bill) Wyszenski all of Glenwood, Iowa; Teresa (Roger) Blum of Griswold, Iowa; Aaron (Peggy) Dempsey of Glenwood, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Interment, West Liberty Cemetery, rural Glenwood, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
