Jimmy Ray Spencer, 73 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away at his home January 13, 2022. He was born Aug. 7, 1948 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Melvin and Ruby Marie (O’Day) Spencer. He faithfully served his country in the Air Force from 1966-1970.
Jimmy was united in marriage to Sandy Mjoen. To this union two children were born, Deb and Daniel. After her passing he was later united in marriage to Sally Helms-Joiner. Jimmy was a Third Grade Building Engineer and Boiler Operator for University Nebraska of Omaha until his retirement. He moved to Glenwood in 2003.
Preceding Jimmy in passing were his parents, wives Sandy and Sally and sister Joann Fountain. Survivors include his children Deb Spencer of Glenwood, Iowa; Daniel Spencer of Omaha, Nebraska; step-sons James, Robert and Patrick Joiner of Omaha, Nebraska; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended relatives and friends.
Inurnment with military honors, Omaha National Cemetery.
