Elizabeth “Liz” Lucille (Ahrens) Lidgett

Services: Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 1:00 P.M., Peterson Mortuary, 212 S. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa.

Interment: Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 3:00 P.M., St. John’s Cemetery, 7100 Knabe Drive, Nehawka, Nebraska.

Elizabeth Lucille Lidgett was born March 31, 1950 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to John E. and Bonnie L. (Rhoden) Ahrens.  She passed away February 8, 2024 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston Missouri at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 9 days.  

She was united in marriage to Galen Lidgett on June 10, 1983.  

Liz attended school in Murdock, Nebraska.  She worked at Glenwood State Hospital School and later went on to own and operate J&G Sanitation once married to Galen.  After moving to Summersville she enjoyed working at Mercy Hospital where she made many dear friends.  

Liz enjoyed reading, sudoku and crossword puzzles.  She most enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their many extracurricular activities. Saturday get-togethers with all the kids, going to the casino and playing games with family and friends were some of her favorite times.  

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Bonnie Ahrens; her husband, Galen Lidgett; her daughter, Robin Hodges; brother, John G. Ahrens; sister Charlotte Jensen and husband Bill; sisters-in-law, Janice Stogdill, Joyce Karnes, and Charlotte Reafleng.  

Liz is survived by her daughter Tonia (Autm) Sargisian; grandson, Robert Hodges; granddaughters, Jessica (Pat) Thomas and Jennifer (Michael) Pruitt; great-grandchildren, Braidyn, Bryleigh, Westyn, Brynnleigh, Kaindon and Kentlee; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou (Mike) Hanlon and Bea Ahrens as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Donations may be made in memory of Liz to the Texas County Library – Summersville Branch, 480 First Street, Summersville, Missouri 65571 or the Glenwood Public Library, 109 N. Vine Street, Glenwood, Iowa.

Services for Liz are being arranged by Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville, Missouri and Peterson Mortuary.
