Clifford D. Eaton

Clifford Davis Eaton, 81 of Glenwood, IA was born June 6, 1931 to Benjamin William & Ethel (Davis) Eaton in Glenwood, IA. Cliff entered into eternal rest at the Hospice With Heart facility in Glenwood, IA on Nov. 30, 2012.

Cliff faithfully served his country in the Navy. He was united in marriage to Julia Ann Holiday Nov. 17, 1956 in Glenwood, IA. To this union three daughters were born, Diane, Cynthia and Julia. The family resided in Vallejo, CA for 25 years where Cliff was a talented machinist and taught his trade at the Maritime Academy. He and Judy relocated to Glenwood following retirement in 1993. Cliff was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the First Baptist Church. Judy passed away following a long illness on Aug. 11, 2000. Cliff was later united in marriage to Sylvia Darlene (Massie) Rains on Aug. 26, 2001. They enjoyed their time spent together.

Preceding Cliff in death were his parents, first wife Judy, two sisters, Alma and Wilma. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Eaton of Glenwood, IA; children, Diane Lee of Dallas, TX; Cynthia Tisdale of Vallejo, CA; Julia Wood of Sacramento, CA; Roger Rains of Pisgah, IA; Joe Rains of Dixon, IL; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill & wife Elsie Eaton of Boston, MA; sister, Frances & husband Bill Skinner of Mesa, AZ; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Interment will be at a later date.

    We send our sympathy at this time of Clifford’s passing. I, Helen Keith Boles, was a class mate of Clifford’s. He will be greatly missed.
