Charles “Bud” Wilhelm, Jr., 86, of Hastings, Iowa entered into eternal rest on Aug. 1, 2011 in Red Oak, Iowa. He was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Anderson Township of Mills County. He was the youngest and only son of Charles & Hazel (Mayberry) Wilhelm. Bud was raised in Mills County and attended school at Pleasant Valley Country School through 8th grade. He graduated from Malvern High School in 1941.

Bud farmed with his father and later drove and maintained buses for Strahan & Nishna Valley for 16 years. He also worked for the Hastings Elevator in Hastings. He made many friends while he was there. He enjoyed driving the bus & he bowled in a league in Oakland as well as Red Oak. Bud had many trophies displayed at home. Bud & Florence took several vacations to the Ozarks. They lived together on the home place until they could no longer care for each other. They then moved to the Red Oak Rehab Center.

Preceding Bud in death were his parents, Charles & Hazel Wilhelm; sister, Dorothy & husband Estle Darby. He is survived by sister, Florence Wilhelm, many cousins, neighbors and friends.
