Cathy Darlene Garner, 62 of Silver City, Iowa formerly of Texas passed away on October 14, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on August 27, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Dudley Orvin and Velma Elizabeth (Merritt) Garner.
Cathy moved to Iowa in 2009 and had been employed as a C.N.A. at Corning Nursing and Rehab, Griswold Care Center and Glen Haven Nursing Home. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Cathy enjoyed cooking and baking and was famous for her pies. As a grandma, she enjoyed sitting around the dinner table sharing stories of her younger years and coaching baseball in her children’s youth.
Preceding Cathy in passing were her parents Velma and Dudley Garner, infant son Mark, brother Westley Garner, sister Shirley Gay Yocham and grandson Drake Clark. Survivors include her son Jeremy and wife Valerie Garner of Silver City, Iowa; daughter Lynn Garner of Red Oak, Iowa; step-daughter Nikki O’Briant of Villisca, Iowa; step-son Jesse O’Briant of Plainfield, Indiana; granddaughter Hallie Willingham of Silver City, Iowa; grandchildren Jaderian Clark, Jeremy Garner, Shyla Clark, Maxamas Wesbrook, Malakeye Wesbrook, Montgomery Wesbrook, Drake O’Briant, Dakota O’Briant; sisters Joanna O’Neal of Houston, Texas Pamela Sue Dickerson of Brookeland, Texas, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Interment to be held at a later date.
