Beverly Christine (Miller) Eckel

Visitation: Friday, September 23, 2022, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Peterson Mortuary, 212 S. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa.

Celebration of Life: Saturday, September 24, 2022, 11:00 A.M., Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 2nd Street, Glenwood, Iowa.

Beverly Christine Eckel was born July 12, 1948 in Craig, Nebraska to Milroy and Edna Miller. She passed away peacefully at her home September 8, 2022 in rural Glenwood.  

Beverly was united in marriage to Lynn Ray Eckel on February 23, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple enjoyed traveling and spending time shooting at the Southwest Iowa Sportsman Club. She had her own one of a kind shotgun. She enjoyed shooting skeet and won several Gold medals in the Iowa Games. Her free time was also filled with many types of crafts. Beverly attended UNO where she received her Bachler’s degree in accounting and later earned her Master’s degree in information services at Bellevue University where she gave the commencement address at her graduation.  

Preceding Beverly in passing were her parents. Survivors include her husband Lynn Eckel of rural Glenwood, Iowa; sister-in-law Diane (Ben) Voss; nieces Stephanie Voss all of Omaha, Nebraska; Kerri Voss of Bennington, Nebraska; her older brother Bob Miller of Hastings, Nebraska and his son Austin and daughter Abby and her younger brother Jim Miller of Kissimmee, Florida. She leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins along with many friends. 

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood where she was a member of Dorcas Circle and volunteered in many capacities until her health no longer permitted. 

Interment at a later date, West Liberty Cemetery, rural Glenwood, Iowa.

Memorial donations may be directed to Wings of Hope.

    Lynn, I was so sorry to hear of Bev’s passing. Many fond memories of Mills County Saddle Club and all the fun times we had together. Thoughts and prayers for you during this difficult time.

    You have our deepest sympathy, Lynn. We have many fond memories of you both when my kids we little. Sheltering at your house during a tornado, when we didn’t have a basement. Going to Mineola Steak House for dinners and beers!
