Vivian Anderson

Vivian A. Anderson, 86 of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Nov. 24, 2012 at the Hospice With Heart facility in Glenwood. She was born July 4, 1926 in Tabor, IA to Roy Earl & Mildred Irene (Watkins) Reed. Vivian was united in marriage to Ray Edward Anderson on March 5, 1945 in Troy, KS. To this union three daughters were born, Pat, Diana and Connie. Vivian enjoyed raising her family and later worked at Glen Haven in the activity department. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles and VFW for over 40 years.

Some of Vivian’s interests were sewing, crocheting and being with her family. She made numerous afghans and baby clothes donating many of them for various raffles.

Preceding Vivian in death were her parents, husband, granddaughter, Teresa Buffington and 3 brothers. She is survived by her children, Pat & Gary Bartles of Arvada, CO; Diana Failla of Glenwood, IA; Connie & Richard Buffington of Ellenton, FL; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great granddaughter; sister-in-laws, Marie Topp of TX; Jane Miller of NE; Lorraine Anderson; Frances Anderson both of Shenandoah, IA; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a many friends.

Interment will be held in the Malvern Cemetery, Malvern, IA.

    My sincere condolences to you all, I never had the privilege to meet Vivian, but she raised some pretty neat children and grandkids…you will always have the memories….

    My Prayers go out to the family, Vivian was a sweet ladie, met her and Ray many years ago at the Council Bluff Eagles and have spent many fun times with them. Will miss seeing her @ Bellevue Eagles chicken dinners.

    Sorry for your loss, Pat, Diana, and Connie, but now she is with Uncle Ray and Theresa. We will always remember how wonderfully kind Aunt Vivian and Uncle Ray were to Keith’s Mom when his Keith’s Dad was so very ill. Keep the good memories, there are plenty.

    Love all of you! I’m soooo sorry for your loss! and all of us other family too! I remember countless visits to your house and the good times. Aunt Vivian always had a smile on her face. I’ll miss her!

    I just saw the notification and I am so sorry for your loss. I am a child of the Green Street group of many years ago and this is where I got to know Vivian and truely learned to respect and pove this woman. May God bless you all and again I am sorry for your loss.
