Doris (Peggy) Henderson, 70, of Glenwood, IA, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 4, 2006 at the Methodist Hospice House in Omaha, NE. She was born Sept. 2, 1936 in Glenwood, IA. Peggy graduated from Glenwood High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Jack Henderson on July 15, 1962 in Joplin, MO. They resided in Joplin until 1976, moved to Rogers, AR, and moved to Glenwood in 1990.
Peggy dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dancing with Jack was one of her favorite things to do and she always enjoyed being with her sorority sisters of Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Beta Beta Chapter. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood and was employed with several banks throughout the years and most recently a secretary for the Glenwood Comm. School District.
Preceding Peggy in death were her parents, and daughter Sharon Henderson O’Dell. She is survived by her husband Jack Henderson of Glenwood, IA, children, Randy Henderson of Des Moines, IA, Terry & wife Peggy Henderson of Independence, MO, Daniel & wife June Washington, IA, Marty & wife Jackie Henderson of Colorado, CO; 7 grandchildren: Eric & wife Tryphosa Henderson, Christopher Henderson, Meredith Henderson, Zachary Henderson, Melissa O’Dell Alley & husband Shannon, Heather O’Dell Porter & husband Tim, Andrew O’Dell, 8 great-grandchildren, Michael Swolley, Jordan Swolley, Raven Alley, Natasha Alley, Alexandra Alley, Jesse Studey Porter, Taylor Porter and Cody Porter, sister, Verna & husband Charlie Anderson of Glenwood, IA, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
