Wyonda Glee “Dolly” Wood, 67 of Pacific Junction, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2008 at her home in Pacific Junction. She was born April 10, 1941 in Red Oak, Iowa to L.V. “Pete” & Mary Beth (Trout) Bartles. Dolly graduated with the class of 1959 from Pacific Junction High School. She faithfully served her country in the Air Force, enlisting in Whiteman AFB. She was united in marriage to George Richard Wood. To this union three children were born, Eric, Jennifer and Scott.
Dolly was a health care professional at Park Place and Glen Haven since 1979. She enjoyed helping and was a Grandma to everyone. Dolly was a collector of flags, angels and especially cookbooks. She was an avid needle crafter, making clothing items for family and her many friends. Dolly was well known throughout the area for sharing her homemade beef jerky. She enjoyed family reunions and making special dishes to share with all.
Preceding Dolly in death were her father and husband. She is survived by her mother, Mary Beth Bartles of Pacific Junction, IA; children, Eric and wife Lisa Wood of Springfield, MO; Jennifer Baucom of Pacific Junction, IA; Scott and wife Rogelia Wood of Sasebo, Japan; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gary and wife Pat Bartles of Arvada, CO; Mary Louise and Lee Covin of Macclenny, FL; Lory and husband David Benedict of Malvern, Iowa; Becky and husband Fred Nuss of Pacific Junction, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and a host of friends.
