Virginia Elaine (Hopp) Moore, 86, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 14, 2010 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born Aug. 28, 1924 in Mills County, Iowa to Leo D. & Bertha E. (Miller) Hopp. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1941 and attended Simpson College for one year. She taught country school in the Emerson and Red Oak area for several years. Virginia was united in marriage to Marion Shook in Jan. of 1943 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Robert, James and Cheryl. Many years later, she married Bernard Moore in Dec. of 1985 in Glenwood, Iowa.

Virginia worked at the Glenwood State Hospital School as a social worker until her retirement. She enjoyed playing in several bridge groups throughout the years and was a former member of the Jolly Janes, Eastern Star and had been a 4-H leader for many years. She was presently a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Virginia loved to visit and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to family gatherings and picnics. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Virginia in death were her parents, first husband Marion, brothers, Keith and Bob Hopp; sister-in-law, Marie Hopp; granddaughter, Dawn Marie; great-granddaughters, Haley and Jessica and great-grandson, Zachary. She is survived by her children, Robert Shook of Omaha, Nebraska; James & Mary Lou Shook of Platte City, Missouri; Cheryl & Ed Kimmer of Sioux City, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
