Velda Marie Harris, 80 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away May 20, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on January 13, 1942 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Richard Lee and Sadie Marie (Helmer) Curtis.
Velda was employed as a supervisor in Lacey Hall at the Glenwood Resource Center. She then went to work as a Child Support Recovery agent for the State of Iowa until her retirement. Velda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding Velda in passing were her parents, husband Robert., sons Robert E. Harris, Jr. and Ricky Harris. Survivors include her son Joseph and wife Jacqueline Harris of Omaha, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sisters Judy and Sandra; extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Waubonsie Cemetery Association.

Condolences to the family
Velda and her husband both worked with my grandfather Dean Sila at the State school (GRC) in Glenwood back in the 80s and 90s. i remember going to their house (it was a big yellow house in Glenwood over behind the shopping center there in town) whenever i was with my grandparents. last time i got to see Velda was right after my oldest son was born back in 2008. her and Madman (thats what my grandparents called her husband) were the sweetest humans i was ever blessed to know always giving my sister and i lots and lots of sweets and hugs, my heart goes out to the family
