Rosario Frank “Ross” Bonfiglio, 99 of Simi Valley, California passed away March 4, 2023 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born October 2, 1923 in Jamestown, New York to Rosario and Salvatrice (Lombardo) Bonfiglio. He was united in marriage to Joyce Geraci and to this union three children were born, Ross, Ann and Joan.
Ross faithfully served his country as a Navy Corpsman until his honorable discharge. He was employed in the field of Aerospace Logistics for Litton Industries. Ross made his daily trip to McDonald’s for oatmeal and a breakfast burrito. He was a huge L.A. Dodgers fan and was lovingly known as Papa to his grandchildren who brought him so much happiness. He had a pet tortoise which he fed watermelon and apples daily and it’s still alive after 50 plus years. He had a tender heart for all animals.
Preceding Ross in passing were his parents, wife, son-in-law Steve Perham and 7 siblings. Survivors include his children Ross (Danelle) Bonfiglio of Simi Valley, California; Ann Perham of Oceanside, California; Joan (Don) Harding of Glenwood, Iowa; 3 grandchildren Jameson Perham, Lauren (Zach) Waldron and Nathan (Desiree) Harding; Great-Grandchild Callahan Waldron.
No local services are planned.
Interment to be in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Simi Valley, California.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
