Ronald Merrill Sargent, 64 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Pacific Junction, Iowa passed away at his home on July 27, 2021. Ron was raised on the family farm and graduated from Glenwood High School 1975. He was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Crum on March 27, 1982 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Matthew and Daniel.
The family resided on the farm in rural Pacific Junction. Ron farmed the Missouri River bottom alongside his father, brother and boys his entire life. Ron was a trustee at Grace United Methodist Church for 30 years serving through five pastors and the construction of the new parsonage which was built in 2017. He was also a trustee of the Waubonsie Church and cemetery. Ron was a true steward of the land and served as chairman for the Levee and Drainage Districts through numerous floods. He was also an officer of Glenwood Band Parents while his sons were in school.
Ron was a devoted family man and enjoyed taking many trips to the Caribbean with them. His friends also enjoyed their annual fishing trip to Canada. Making friends came natural to Ron and he could have many long conversations with anyone he met along the way. His genuine love for his family and farm was felt by those around him. Rest in peace thy good and faithful servant. You will be forever missed.
Preceding Ron in passing were his parents Merrill and Elva Sargent and father-in-law Larry Crum. Survivors include his loving wife Pam Sargent; son Matthew and wife Laura and their children Kate and Jack Sargent, all of Glenwood, Iowa; son Daniel and wife Courtney Sargent of Pacific Junction, Iowa; brother Dale and wife Pam E. Sargent; mother-in-law Darlene Crum, all of Glenwood, Iowa; brother-in-law Craig and wife Paula Crum of Charles City, Iowa; aunt Naomi Christensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; extended relatives and many friends.
Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
