Richard Ray “Dickey” Hastie

Interment will be held in the Waubonsie Cemetery, south of Glenwood, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established.

Richard Ray “Dickey” Hastie, 46 of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family following a courageous 2 å_ year battle with cancer. He was born to Marvin Keith & Ann Marie (Williams) Hastie on May 23, 1965 in Council Bluffs, IA. Richard graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1984.

Dickey was employed at Park Place until his health no longer permitted. He loved collecting knives, guns, fishing, shopping and listening to music. He looked forward to traveling to Texas in the wintertime and going to the Don Wess Flea Market in Rio Grande Valley, TX. South Padre was also one of his favorite places to visit. Dickey was a kind and generous person and dearly loved his family. He had a good sense of humor and also was known for teasing his friends and family.

Preceding Dickey in death were his grandparents, Lowell & Ruby Hastie and Henry & Goldie Williams along with his infant brother, James Conrad Hastie. He is survived by his parents, Keith & Ann Hastie; brother, Karl & wife Suanne Hastie all of Glenwood, IA; nieces and nephews; Daniel Crystal, Kim, Bruce, Patrick and Stacie; 4 great-nephews and 1 great-niece; extended relatives and many friends.
