Rev. Robert Thomas Hamilton

Rev. Robert Thomas Hamilton, 81 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on March 26, 2014 at Hospice With Heart in Glenwood. He was born Sept. 20, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to James Joseph & Violet Mae (Charles) Hamilton. Throughout his education, Bob was an accomplished athlete in track & field as well as cross-country. He was the first freshman member of the varsity cross-country team at Hillsdale College in Michigan.

During his Seminary, Bob met and later married Grace B. Bradley. They were united in marriage on Aug. 9, 1958 in Momence, IL. To this union three children were born, Mark, Beth Ann & Joanna. The family resided in many different towns during Bob’s time in the ministry. Following retirement they moved to Glenwood in 1988. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling and visiting with people about politics. In his earlier years, he was a private pilot & shared ownership of a plane. Bob loved being with his family & will be greatly missed.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, wife Grace & two infant children. Survivors include son, Mark Robert (Florenta) Hamilton of Codlea, Romania; daughter, Joanna Lynn (Douglas) Dragoun of Glenwood, IA: grandchildren, Austin (Jessica) Reeves of Omaha, NE; Alanna Reeves & Joe Lullo of Plattsmouth, NE; extended relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary, Glenwood, IA.

Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with military rites by American Legion Post 141.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice With Heart Memorial Garden.
