Ralph Donald Mayberry, 81, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2009 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born September 22, 1927 in Glenwood, Iowa to Shirley DeWitt and Ethel Oney (Doran) Mayberry.

Don was united in marriage to Charlene JoAnn Roberts on February 16, 1957 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. They resided in Glenwood where Don was employed with the Glenwood Resource Center until his retirement. He faithfully served his country in the Navy during Korea and WWII. Don was a member of V.F.W. and the Glenwood American Legion Post 141. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, coin collecting, gardening, and could often be found playing a game of solitaire.

Preceding Don in death were his parents, wife Charlene, son Mark Mayberry, granddaughter Elizabeth Mayberry, great-grandson Carter Ratliff, seven brothers and one sister. He is survived by his children Jim Ratliff of Omaha, Nebraska; Kathy Archer of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Susan Mayberry of Glenwood, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Darrell Mayberry of Glenwood, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
