Norman Dale Pierce

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made the East Mills Booster Club, Malvern Public Library, or the Glenwood Booster Club.

Norman Dale Pierce, 84, of Malvern, IA, entered into eternal rest at his residence on December 25, 2007. He was born August 7, 1923 in Glenwood, IA to Paul and Hilda (Hammers) Pierce.

On January 12, 1952, Norman was united in marriage to Colleen Kline. To this union, three children were born, Shannon, Norman Thomas and Brian Dale. Norman faithfully served his country during WWII as a T4 in the 8th Armored Division; 398th Field Artillery Division. He was employed in the Lime and Rock Business for 15 years and later became a television repairman. Norman was also a rural mail carrier until his retirement. He served as a councilman for several years and was a member of the K.P.

He was a sports enthusiast and loved to watch his grandchildren participate. Norman enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and had a large barbwire collection. He thoroughly loved being with his family.

Preceding Norman in death were his parents and son Norman Thomas Pierce. He is survived by his wife Colleen Pierce of Malvern, IA; children; Shannon and husband John McCaslin of Glenwood, IA; Brian and wife Brenda Pierce of Tabor, IA; seven grandchildren; two brothers; Rex and wife Donna Pierce of Shenandoah, IA; Code and wife Wava Pierce of Sidney, IA; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
