Marjorie A. (Hopp) Haynie

Visitation:  Thursday, November 19, 2020, 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Peterson Mortuary, 212 S. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa.  NOTE:  Public gatherings limited to 15 individuals at one time per the Governor’s Pubic Health Order.

Graveside Services are private.

Marjorie Arlene Haynie, 87 of Red Oak, Iowa formerly of Glenwood and Malvern, Iowa entered into rest on November 16, 2020 at her home in Red Oak. She was born November 7, 1933 in Glenwood, Iowa to Ferdinand Hans and Anna Marguerite (Fisher) Hopp.

Marjorie graduated from Pacific Junction, Iowa High School. She was employed in the Income Maintenance Department for the State of Iowa for 21 years until her retirement. She was united in marriage to Cletis Haynie on September 30, 1997 in Rockport, Missouri. The couple lived near Malvern before moving to Red Oak in 2005.

Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents, brothers Laurence and wife Mary Hopp, Paul Hopp, John Hopp, sisters Phyllis and husband Floyd Stouder, Dorothy and husband Everett Stouder, brother-in-law Lloyd Haynie, step-sons Timothy Haynie and Larry Haynie.

Survivors include husband Cletis Haynie of Red Oak, Iowa; sons Mark and wife Sherri Jacobsen, Steven and wife Denise Jacobsen all of Glenwood, Iowa; daughters-in-law Cheryl Haynie of Stanton, Iowa, Deborah Haynie of Shenandoah, Iowa, grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Janet Hopp of Earlham, Iowa, Le Hopp of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and Gerri Haynie; extended relatives and friends.

Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established.

    So sorry to read of Marge’s passing. She and I were in high school together in Pacific Junction, she a couple of grades ahead of me. We were cheerleaders together a year. A good gal for sure. My thoughts and sympathy to Cletis and all her family
