Margaret Hazel Nissen, 77, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2011 at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born September 8, 1933 in Jackson, Minnesota to Otto & Anna (Fredricks) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Eugene Ernest Nissen on October 31, 1953 in Jackson, Minnesota. To this union five children were born, Nancy Ann, Patty Sue, Marvin Eugene, Mark Emery and Bonnie Jo.

Margaret was employed as a concession stand attendant at a golf course. She and Eugene did extensive traveling throughout the United States and visited all of them with the exception of Hawaii. Margaret loved lighthouses and had a rather large collection of them. Time spent with her family was a highlight for her and they will cherish the many memories they all shared together.

Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, two sisters, Ruthie and Dorothy; three brothers, Floyd, Lloyd and Herbert and nephew, Jack. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Nissen of Glenwood, Iowa; children, Nancy Ann Blum of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Patty Sue Catagnus of Las Vegas, Nevada; Marvin Eugene Nissen of Edwardsburg, Michigan; Mark Emery Nissen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Bonnie Jo Freese of Early, Iowa; extended relatives a host of friends.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Death truly is an enemy and alien to God’s original purpose for man. May your trust in Jehovah’s promises and loving care comfort you until you see Margaret again.
