Luther C. Gammon

Luther C. Gammon, 76 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on March 7, 2015 in Omaha, NE. He was born Sept. 26, 1938 in Council Bluffs, IA to Edward H. & Mamie E. Gammon.

The family lived in Pacific Junction, IA until Luther was two and then moved to Glenwood. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1956 and attended the University of Iowa for one year. He was united in marriage to Jane D. Good on Sept. 7, 1958 in Glenwood, IA. To this union four children were born, Tracy, Todd, Craig & Meg. Luther farmed until 1982 and then started Gammon Appraisals until his retirement. He served two terms on the Iowa Appraisal Examining Board. Luther loved spending time at their home on Lake Okoboji where the family had fun boating and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting coins and playing golf.

Preceding Luther in passing were his parents, sister, Lettatia Antoniello and grandson, Joseph Allen Blankenship. Survivors include his wife, Jane Gammon of Glenwood, IA; children, Tracy Blankenship of Glenwood, IA; Todd (Monique) Gammon of Frisco, TX; Craig (Alicia) Gammon of Vilonia, AR; Meg (Rob) Schroeder of Glenwood, IA; 8 grandchildren; extended relatives and many friends.

Inurnment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, IA

Memorials may be made to the Glenwood Senior Center.

    I am sorry to hear of Luther’s passing. I know you are all so sad. May God comfort you with your memories of him. It is good to know he is not suffering or feeling pain anymore. You were all so good to take care of him!

    I’m so sorry to hear of Luther’s passing. He was a terrific guy, we shared many great times together on the Iowa NAMA board, as well as assisting with appraisals.

    We were sorry to hear of Luther’s passing, he was highly respected by other appraisers not only in Iowa but nationally & will be greatly missed. It was a pleasure to work with Luther on appraisal work, the Iowa NAMA board, the Iowa IAAC board and the national NAMA committee he served. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

    To the man I never knew, I know you must of been a great one. May you rest in peace Uncle Luke and please say hello to my Mom you both will now be Angels in Heaven watching over us.

    To my Aunt Jane, Tracy, Todd, Craig, and Meg I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope that God gives you comfort in your time of need. We are all praying for you.
