Lloyd C. Haynie, 80 of Council Bluffs, IA, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2005 in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born Dec. 13, 1924 on a farm south of Council Bluffs, known as the hog ranch to Enos Guy and Hazel Marie (Kizzier) Haynie. The family later moved to a farm south of Glenwood. He attended the rural Elm Grove School. Lloyd worked for various neighbors and was later employed fulltime by Glen & Dick Jackson, where he worked until he began farming in 1945. Lloyd was united in marriage on Dec. 28, 1946 to Geraldine L. Olsen in Council Bluffs, IA, which was the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Lloyd’s parents. After 14 years of marriage, the couple was blessed with two daughters, Karen Sue, born on April 19, 1961 and Kathy Ann born on June 30, 1962.

Lloyd was a livestock farmer and was known for raising Purebred Hogs for 33 years, marketing in IA, NE, and MO. He operated Haynie Feed & Farm Supply Store for 15 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Underwood Community of Christ Church, 50 year member of Farm Bureau, served as Vice President & President in 1975-76, served on West Pottawattamie County Ext. Council for 7 years maintaining perfect attendance for both organizations, served on Woodland Camp Board at Little Sioux for 5 years from 1986-91, was a member of American Legion in Glenwood and Council Bluffs Post #2 since 1946, Charter member of Underwood Optimist Club, which was reorganized Febr. 1983, board member of UMBA Association and was a Charter member of Iowa Westcorp Association.

Lloyd loved to garden and raise flowers and took great pride in maintaining their home. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was known for his friendly personality and thought the world of his neighbors and family.

Haynie of Council Bluffs, IA; daughters, Karen S.H. & husband Bruce Curry of Bailey, CO, Kathy Ann Haynie of Papillion, NE, granddaughters, Kylen Marie & Brenna Mae Curry, brother, Cletis & wife Marj Haynie of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law, Ethel Olsen of Council Bluffs, IA., brother-in-laws, Ivan Olsen of Omaha, NE., Elmer Roenfeld of Glenwood, IA,
