Linda Rae (Stacy) Burgoin Vinton, 77 of Malvern, Iowa passed away September 18, 2025 in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born October 21, 1947 in Glenwood, Iowa to Archie Cody and Ruth Maxine (Anderson) Stacy.

Linda was united in marriage to Bob Burgoin on August 21, 1965 and to this union two daughters were born, Stacy and Jennifer. They raised their daughters on the family farm. Both girls were active in 4-H and Linda kept busy as a leader for their club. She also enjoyed being a farmwife, neighbor, and running the neighborhood kids to and from activities.

Linda later married Gary Vinton on February 24, 1996 in Mineola, Iowa. And to this union she added three more daughters, Amy, Shelly and Jennifer. Linda and Gary enjoyed traveling, especially to Door County Wisconsin, crafting together, and attending the many Vinton reunions throughout the years.

Linda was employed at the Farm Service Agency and then the Glenwood Resource Center until her retirement. She remained friends with her co-workers and had coffee with them on a regular basis. In her earlier years, she enjoyed oil painting, shopping with the girls, and spending time with her brothers and sisters. But it wasn’t until later that she discovered her true love and that was her grandchildren, she loved her “babies”. Rarely did she pass up an opportunity to babysit, play whatever they wanted to play or attend one of their many activities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Linda in passing were her parents, husbands Bob Burgoin and  Gary Vinton, sister Elaine Stacy, brother Keith and his wife Ruth Ann Stacy, in-laws Jerry VanWinkle, Janene Stacy, and Roger Stroud. Survivors include Stacy (Rod) Burge of Sidney, Iowa; Jennifer (Don) Comer of New Market, Iowa; grandchildren, Timothy (Lauren) Snyder, Ethan and Chloe Burge; Nick (Maddee) Comer, Noah and Hannah Comer. Great grand-children Hallie, Liza, Ari, and Calvin Snyder and Mae Leah Comer; siblings Roger (Jill) Stacy of Glenwood, Iowa; Anna Mae VanWinkle (Mick Thompson) of Tabor, Iowa; Carol Stroud of Glenwood, Dale (Vicki) Kirkpatrick of Hamburg, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Interment, Malvern Cemetery, Malvern, Iowa.

Sending love, hugs and prayers. . She will be missed by so many. Was remembering yesterday about all the times our parents got together to play cards and us girls had so much fun being together. Linda loved to put on red lipstick and catch my dad (Ray) off guard and plant a big ole red lipstick kiss on his bald head. Special memories for sure. Rest in peace dear cousin.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I enjoyed working with her at GRC. We had some great conversations during our 15-minute breaks, mostly about our children and grandchildren. May your memories of her help you through this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. So many years have passed since High School. But she was a lovely teenager, a loving mother, and grandmother. May the many memories keep their hearts warm with her love she gave
