Larry D. Turner, 74, of Pacific Junction, Iowa, passed away on January 23, 2026. He was born on May 11, 1951, in Pacific Junction, Iowa, to Otis Turner, Sr., and Shirley (Halterman) Turner. Larry was raised in Pacific Junction and graduated from Glenwood High School.
Larry was united in marriage to Marlene Marie Roker on October 27, 1973, in Mineola, Iowa. To this union, their daughter, Jaimie, was born.
Larry followed his dad and brothers into concrete work as a teenager and was a cement finisher for Lund-Ross for over 20 years before starting his own business. He never wanted to be a boss, but he always wanted to teach the younger generation.
He enjoyed golfing with his buddies every chance he could and was a member of the Glenwood Golf Course for over 40 years. He played in league with his son-in-law, in tournaments with his daughter or nephew, and always looked forward to the annual Ozark golf trip he took every spring with his friends.
Larry also enjoyed mowing and cared for many lots in Pacific Junction out of kindness, taking pride in keeping Pacific Junction a beautiful place to live after the flood of 2019. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting, getting ice cream and Boba Tea with his daughter and grandkids and enjoyed taking spontaneous trips with his wife. They were each other’s biggest supporters and greatest loves. He was always living life to the fullest.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Pa), brother, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Everyone knew him or knew of him—he never met a stranger. Good ol’ LT will be deeply missed.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents; his brother-in-law, Donald Roker; and his in-laws, Myron and Viola Roker.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene Turner of Pacific Junction, Iowa; daughter Jaimie (Ryan) Fisher and their children, Joslyn, Quinn, and Bennett Fisher of Glenwood, Iowa; siblings Otis Turner, Jr. (Connie) of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Stephen Turner (Rochelle) of Glenwood, Iowa; Carmen Scroggs (Jack) of Pacific Junction, Iowa; in-laws William Roker (Pam) of Nebraska City, Nebraska; Robert Roker (Lisa) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Dennis Roker (Teena); Shari Brown (Bob); and Kelly Roker, all of Glenwood, Iowa; along with extended relatives and many friends.
Private Family Interment, Martin Chapel Cemetery, Pacific Junction, Iowa.
Memorial donations have been designated to: Western Iowa’s Feral and Homeless Cat Program.
