Joel Patrick “Oly” Burke, 69 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away April 10, 2026 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born December 11, 1956 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Joseph James and Leatitia Bernadenia (Seftner) Burke.
Oly was united in marriage to Debra Louise Addison in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union their daughter Bonnie was born. Oly worked as a carpenter in the construction business. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Oly in passing were his parents and sister Bonita “Bo” Kealy. Survivors include his wife Debra Burke; daughter Bonnie Burke; grandson Caleb Heineke all of Glenwood, Iowa; granddaughter Baylynn Heineke of Shenandoah, Iowa; his beloved dog Frazier; sisters Mary Suder; Teri (Tim) McIntyre; Elaine (Lonnie) Wright; Cheryl Pomernackas; brother Marshall (Jane) Burke all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; extended relatives and friends.
Interment to be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

So sorry to learn of Oly’s passing. I have fond memories of him from many years ago. He was never short of a story to tell. May God give comfort to Debbie and his family during this difficult time as we cherish the memories that he has left behind.
