Jerry Lee Hunter; 73, of Pacific Junction, IA, entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2005 in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born Aug. 23, 1931 in Pacific Junction, IA to Frank & Mary (Piatt) Hunter.
Jerry graduated from Pacific Junction High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Jane Etta Rew on Nov. 8, 1951 in Pacific Junction, IA. To this union five children were born; Vanessa, Fred, Jerry Jr., Mary Jane and George. Jerry was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad for over 46 years. He was a member of Full Faith Church and South Omaha Eagles. He loved being with his family, gardening and caring for the beautiful flowers along Main Street in Pacific Junction each spring. Hunting and fishing were also hobbies he enjoyed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Benny and sisters Minnie and Lindy. He is survived by his wife Jane Hunter of Pacific Junction, IA; children: Vanessa & husband Henry Makaio of Pacific Junction, IA; Fred & wife Joyce Hunter of Pacific Junction, IA; Jerry Hunter, Jr. & wife Vicki of Glenwood, IA; Mary Jane Hunter & fianc̩ Danny of Pacific Junction, IA; George Hunter & friend Beth of Pacific Junction, IA; 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren; sister: Bonnie & husband Donald McCaulley of Excelsior Springs, MO; brothers: Harry Hunter of Council Bluffs, IA; Jack & wife Phyllis Hunter of Brush, CO; Jay & wife Merna Hunter of Suffolk, VA; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
