Jacob Wesley Porter, 30 of Chicago, Illinois formerly of Glenwood, Iowa passed away November 3, 2025 at his home. Jacob was raised in Glenwood, Iowa and graduated from Glenwood High School in 2013. He enjoyed being on his computer, cooking and singing.
Jacob had been employed at Dollar General, Casey’s and was always helping his parents around the house. He enjoyed his pets Rylee and Chloe. Jacob always looked forward to the holidays, especially Christmas and the goodies that his Mom made. Once he was out on his own, he asked her for the recipes so he could make his own delicious treats. He loved his family very much.
Jacob moved to Chicago in 2023 and worked as a butcher in a meat market. He recently worked in a daycare which he thoroughly enjoyed. Preceding Jacob in passing were his grandparents, Bud and Marie Hytrek, Maurice and Gladys Porter. Survivors include his parents Darrel and Terri Porter; brothers Matt (Cindy) Gray and David Gray all of Glenwood, Iowa; nieces and nephews Aslie (Meadow) Gray; Gavin (Kimberly) Gray; Noah and Rylee; Chase Gray, Morgan Benton, Anthony Benton; Aunts and Uncles; Shirley Coons, Carol Clark, Wayne Porter, Beth Porter, Regina Webster, Bobbi Rumery, Kathy and Tom Bussey all of Glenwood, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
