Gloria Jane Andersen

Gloria Jane Andersen, 83 of Malvern, Iowa formerly of Pacific Junction, Iowa entered into rest on February 7, 2017 at her home. She was born on March 30, 1933 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Charles August and Florence Virila (Schooley) White. She had a twin brother Gordon and two sisters, Dorothy and Kay. Gloria graduated from Glenwood High School in 1951. She was working at Northern Natural Gas in Omaha, when she married William James “Bill” Andersen at the Judson Memorial Baptist Church on October 1, 1955. They were blessed with one son, Gordon James. The family moved from Omaha to rural Pacific Junction in 1973. Gloria worked part time for 10 years at Places and later volunteered at the Mills County Store House, an activity she enjoyed very much. Gloria was baptized at the First Baptist Church in 1949 and was a member there for 40 years until she became a member of the Living Hope Community Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She has been a believer in the risen Jesus Christ always.

Preceding Gloria in passing were her parents, husband Bill, twin brother, Gordon Ezra White. Survivors include her son Gordon James and wife Kelly Andersen and their son Caleb James Andersen of Malvern, Iowa; sisters, Dorothy Aasen and Georgie Kay Fletcher of Bowman, North Dakota; nieces and nephews, Vicky and Doug Pierce of Sterling, Colorado; Charles Fletcher of Bowman, North Dakota; Roxie (Justin) Faris of Fargo, North Dakota; extended relatives and many friends.

There will be a luncheon served following the service at the church. Interment will be held at the Thurman Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. February 11, 2017.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Wounded Warriors.
