It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother and Husband, Garrett Allen Koperski at the age of 25, due to a brain aneurysm at 12:44 pm on September 1, 2025. Garrett was a vibrant soul whose life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and a passion for cars and trucks specifically Toyota Tundra’s, the Jeep community, Bowling and GTA 5.

Born on June 27, 2000 in Omaha. Garrett grew up in Glenwood and was a cherished member of our family and community. He graduated from Iowa Western with a CNA certificate. He was planning on returning to college to become a nurse. He worked at Hillcrest Country Estate in Bellevue and was known for his kindness, humor, love, and care for the residents. His friends admired him for his love of life, laughter and his dance moves.

Garrett had a unique ability to light up any room he entered, and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed. He loved car shows and cherished the time spent with family and friends. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Garrett loved bowling and was able to celebrate both his last birthday and his brother Michael’s doing something that they both loved. It was truly a special night for both of them. Garrett had a very special relationship with his mom. Many would have called him a momma’s boy but in actuality it was simply pure love for her. His father is so incredibly proud of the man he had become. Garrett also loved home cooked meals and Stephanie knew just what to make to fill his stomach. In Hadrian his husband he found love and the joy of sharing many hobbies.

He was preceeded in death by his grandfather Michael Koperski Sr., Grandmother, Barbara Koperski, Grandfather, Gerald Gaber and his German Shepard Shiloh.

He is survived by his husband Hadrian, loving mother , Deb Koperski, and father Mike (Lorri) Koperski , brother Michael (Stephanie), grandmother Katherine Gaber and most importantly his German shepherd Daisy. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love that will forever remain.

His family requests memorial donations be made to Heartland German Shepherd Rescue which was dear to Garrett’s heart.

I knew Garrett from Hillcrest, where he took such good care of my dad. In fact he was dead’s favorite caregiver. He was a truly kind and gentle man. He is and will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
