Edna Mae Buechler Curtis was born April 18, 1933, to Fred and Louise (Kehne) Buechler. She had brothers and sisters-in-laws Arnold and Anne, Elmer and Dorothy, sisters and brothers-in-laws Mary Ellen and Doyle McKinstry and Frances and Norman Ross. She attended Taylor country school through eighth grade and then Plattsmouth High School graduating in 1950.
She worked for the Mutual of Omaha finishing her career there as an executive secretary. She married Jack Curtis on Sept 18, 1964. They made their home in Pacific Junction, Iowa where she gardened and enjoyed the company of their little dog Snowball. In her time in Pacific Junction, she worked for the Glenwood Resource Center as a resident treatment worker for 25 years. She loved puzzles and games and watching all kinds of tv programs. She liked to walk and loved her church.
She went peacefully to her Heavenly Home on March 5, at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 17 days. She passed at the Heritage at Fox Run where she had been living.
She is presided in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
She is survived by one first cousin Joyce (Buechler) Heim, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; niece and nephews Patti and Terry Parham, Pacific Junction, Iowa; John and Jo Buechler, Kansas City, Missouri; David and Cindy Buechler, Omaha, Nebraska; Jean Dreiger, Omaha, Nebraska; Sally Jo Pritchard, North Bonneville, Washington; Debbie McKinstry and Roger Johnson, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mike and Theresa McKinstry, Lincoln, Nebraska; Doris and Kevin Stubbendeck, Lincoln, Nebraska; Linda and Lee Wymer, Morrill, Kansas; Cathy Day, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Jerry and Lori Buechler, Bellevue, Nebraska; Nancy and John Cantergiani, Cibolo, Texas; Holly and Paul Hori, Canyon Country, California and Kelly and Mike Yates, San Luis Obispo, California. She had in her lifetime 82 great nieces and nephews; 97 great-great nieces and nephews; and 27 great-great-great nieces and nephews!
Interment, Martin Chapel Cemetery, Pacific Junction, Iowa.
Memorial donations have been designated to Martin Chapel Cemetery.
