Donald Keith Hopp II, April 20, 1946 – July 6, 2022

Donald Keith Hopp II (also known as “D.K.”) passed away peacefully at his home in Glenwood, Iowa after a short battle with cancer.

Don was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Donald Keith and Priscilla Ann (Marshall) Hopp and was raised on a generational farm in Glenwood, Iowa.  A graduate of Glenwood High School in 1964, Don was an All-Southwest Iowa football player who continued his education at Iowa State University. Don was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and graduated with a degree in Agricultural-Business in 1968. After graduation he chased his dreams to California where he started his family and pursued his business career.

He was a member of the Elks Club, Eagles Club, Optimist Club, Rotary Club and Westwood Sportsman Club.  He loved fishing in Cabo, Alaska, as well as in his hometown ponds. Don was a sports enthusiast and loved watching those he cared for play ball.

Don found his love, Debbie, and they were united in marriage in La Quinta, California.  Don and Debbie adored being together with their family, friends, and grandchildren.  Don was a loving, outgoing and confident man who treasured being surrounded by loved ones.

Don valued supporting charities and organizations, including, the Boys and Girls Club and Glen Haven Village “Polly’s Place”.

Preceding Don were his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie; daughter Chrissy (Dave) Winchester and their children Allison and Derek Winchester; step-son Todd Shields, step-daughters Terri Ballard and Beth Roth, sister Nancy (Maris) Vanags; brother Mike (Tami); first wife Carol, many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Don had a larger-than-life personality, who brought happiness to so many and will be dearly missed by all. When you think of Don, remember the good memories of him and always live life to the fullest.

Interment: Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
