Della Lauretta (Nagel) Millsap, 90, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 15, 2010 at Tabor Manor in Tabor, Iowa. She was born Feb. 21, 1920 in Taneyville, Missouri to Henry Edward & Lizzie (Lathrop) Nagel. Her early life was spent in Missouri, where she met and married Lester Martin Millsap on Oct. 19, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri. To this union two sons were born, Dwight and Martin Duane.
Della enjoyed raising her family and then became employed at the Glenwood State Hospital School as a care provider retiring in 1982, but returned to work as a Foster Grandparent until her health no longer permitted. Throughout her life, she loved raising beautiful roses in her flower gardens. Della enjoyed crocheting and making her granddaughter doll clothes. Her favorite feline companion was Velma.
Preceding Della in death were her parents, husband Lester on July 21, 1977, sons, Dwight Millsap and Martin Duane Millsap, one sister and several brothers. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Millsap of Glenwood, Iowa; granddaughter, Karen (Millsap) Batten of Glenwood, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Danielle Frazier of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Jordan Poe and Kaylyn Poe both of Shenandoah, Iowa; extended relatives and a host of friends.
