Delaine “D.J.” Jones, 85 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away August 1, 2019 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born April 8, 1934 in Emerson, Iowa to Paul and Juanita (Ronk) Jones.
Following high school, D.J. completed two years of college. He faithfully served his country in the Coast Guard until he was honorably discharged after four years of service. He worked in the area of investments for Waddell and Reed and was also a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Southwest Iowa Sportsman Club.
Preceding D.J. in passing were his parents and son Jeffrey Jones. Survivors include his daughter Barbara Kolde and grandson Shane Kolde both of Saint George, Kansas; siblings Marilyn Lang of Treynor, Iowa; Alys Trau of Iowa City, Iowa; Wendell Jones of Downers Grove, Illinois; good neighbor and friend Vince Crawley who took good care of D.J.; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life services are planned at a later date.
