Cheryl Kay Cape, 70 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away August 12, 2018 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born on February 18, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Earl Junior and Donna Darlene (Decker) Hatcher. Cheryl was raised in Glenwood graduating from Glenwood High School.

Cheryl was united in marriage to Richard Lee Cape on March 28, 1968 in Glenwood. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Richard and Melissa. The couple enjoyed square dancing and taking road trips with their family. Cheryl was a member of the First Christian Church. She loved family gatherings and going out to eat with their Sunday School group. Cheryl was so proud of her four grandchildren and enjoyed every moment spent together with them.

Preceding Cheryl in passing were her grandparents, Harold “Cub” and Frances “Took” Decker; Lilly and Dave Hatcher; father, Earl Hatcher; father-in-law, L.H. Cape; Aunt Deloma Decker; sister-in-law, Betty Petersen and brother-in-law, James Cape. Survivors include her husband, Richard “Dick” Cape of Glenwood, Iowa; children, Richard (Cathy) Cape of Omaha, Nebraska; Melissa “Missy” (Kevin) Blunt of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren, Jared, Brianna, Janey and Trey; mother, Donna Hatcher of Glenwood, Iowa.

Interment in the Silver City Cemetery, Silver City, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors.

    My deepest sympathies to your family. I had the pleasure of working with Cheryl years ago at tge school. I always enjoyed her laughter and her kindness. Your in my prayers.

    So Sorry to hear Cheryl has past away..She an I ment many years ago when Richie and my Angi Burkybile became special friends an have remained friends..Cheryl was the most genuine and precious person…She was a beautifulan loving person..She also was’nt afraid to speak her piece..My Heart goes out to you Dick,Richie,Missy..
