Chance Erik Gunderson, 19, of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Oct. 19, 2011 in Glenwood, IA. He was born July 30, 1992 in Garden City, KS to Charles Richard Gunderson, Jr. & Terry A. (Shipley) Gunderson. He attended the Glenwood Community School System and had resided here since age seven. Chance enjoyed space science, cooking, target shooting and was known to drop anything he was doing to help others. He loved his family and babysat for his nieces and nephew.

Preceding Chance in death were his maternal grandparents, Floyd & Dorothy Shipley; paternal grandmother, Vickie Roberts & Uncle Eric Gunderson.

Chance is survived by his parents, Richard & Terry Gunderson of Glenwood, IA; siblings, Andrew & wife Heather McCord; Ryan A. Gunderson; Grandfather, Charles Richard Gunderson, Sr.; Great-Grandfather, Harold Roberts; 1 nephew, 2 nieces, extended relatives and many friends.

    We are so sorry for your loss. We are also though very happy to have met Chance and become good friends with him during the short time we have known him. We are all still in shock over what has happened. We miss him alot. But no that he is still here with us all just in spirit instead of person. Thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time

    I am so sorrY for your loss. I just found out tuesdAy. I went to jr high and high school with hiM. He. Was a really great friend. And I will miss him.
