Carol Jean Edmonds, 83 of Council Bluffs, Iowa formerly of Glenwood, Iowa passed away November 29, 2025 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born June 4, 1942 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Earl Richard, Sr. and Velma Elizabeth (Dorn) Harless.
Carol was employed as a Medical Transcriptionist for Mutual of Omaha until her retirement. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Carol was preceded in passing by her parents, husbands Ronald Kates and Jack Edmonds. Survivors include her children; Jeff Kates, Terry Kates both of Glenwood, Iowa; Mark Kates of Red Oak, Iowa and James Edmonds of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, siblings Rick (Norma) Harless of Tabor, Iowa; Marjorie Perkins of Glenwood, Iowa; Ella (Frank) McNeal of Council Bluffs, Iowa; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations have been designated to the American Cancer Society.

So sorry to read of Carol’s passing.. She was a neighbor of my moms when she lived in PJ and was also a classmate of my brother. Too young for both of them to be gone. Thniking of you boys, Jeff, Mark, and Terry at this sad time.
