Bradley Garth Hansen

Bradley Hansen, 56 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away May 8, 2022.

Bradley “Brad” G. Hansen (February 1966 – May 2022)

A beloved son of Edwin (deceased) and Eleanor Hansen (Sparta, Wisconsin), Brad made his home in Glenwood, Iowa.  He grew up Pennsylvania and studied at the G.I.A. in Carlsbad, California earning his credentials as a certified gemologist.  He worked in retail in area fine jewelry counters, specializing in pearls and diamonds.  In his later years, he was a trusted and faithful cashier at Walmart in Council Bluffs, providing friendly, fair and knowledgeable service.

His siblings and their spouses, Andrea Hansen and Curtis Miller (Sparta, Wisconsin), Gloria and Stephen Hague (Baltimore, Maryland), and Gregory and Betsy Hansen (Jonesboro, Arkansas) find it difficult to imagine life without their “little brother.”  Brad was a proud uncle and uncle-in-law to Chloe and Mack Hansen-Dunn (Menasha, Wisconsin), Sara Hansen and Conner Choi (Denver, Colorado), Julian and Elena Hague, Marcus Hague, and Lucas Hague (all of Baltimore, Maryland).  He was a great-uncle to Oliver Hague. He is survived by his many Hansen and Andersen cousins and family friends.

Brad cherished his family, loved his parents wholeheartedly, enjoyed stories and jokes, practiced kindness and cultivated a deep acceptance of self and others. His family and friends will dearly miss his visits and phone calls.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 North Water Street, Sparta, Wisconsin.  Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will follow.

The family truly appreciates the caring staff and services of Peterson Mortuary, Glenwood, Iowa.

To all the Hansen’s especially Eleanor, Andrea, Gloria and Greg. I will never forget the many times you opened your house and your hearts for my many sleepovers with Andrea. And how could I ever forget your curious little brother Bradley? We had so much fun in the summers. From the deep wells of my being, I am truly saddened for all of you and am grieving in my own way for the loss of Bradley. Always, Carol P.
