Bernadette Joan (Scigo) McGinnis

Bernadette “Buni” Joan (Scigo) McGinnis, 67 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Omaha, Nebraska passed away June 5, 2025 at Glen Haven Village. She was born March 22, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska to Bernard A. Scigo and Fern M. (Horvath) Scigo.

Preceding Bernadette in passing were her parents, brother and sister. Survivors include her daughters Melanie (Michael) Carr; Mindie Batiste (Scott Payton) all of Omaha, Nebraska; Michelle (Caleb) Reed of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren A.J. Batiste, Brinlei Reed and Lachlan Reed along with grandpup Pickles; sister Patricia (Michael) Roth of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law Terry Scigo of Fremont, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life memorial to be held a later date.

Memorial donations have been designated to Glen Haven Home.

    I will miss our talks and our laughter. She always made me feel when ask for special hamburger that I made her at glenhaven. My prayers are with her family and everyone that knew her

    I had been video chatting with Buni the last couple of years & so glad that we had plenty of time to talk & text & Share a lot of high school memories & about our family’s after highschool. , Also all the time’s we helped each other when things at our homes. Did not agree with us. , & some times we would be there to help each other out till things got better & even had little weekend’s when we would party in the part. !! I’ll. Really miss you Buni. & Especially the video chats

    I will dearly miss my crafting and shopping girl. Her laughter and smile are unforgettable. She was truly a part of my family, She has given me so many treasured memories. I am keeping all those who knew her in my thoughts and prayers. Say “hi” to Carolyn and my Mom. Fly High my dear friend until we meet again
