Arthur John “Art” Pedersen, 84, of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on January 1, 2010 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born May 23, 1925 in Louisville, Nebraska to Anton and Mary (Green) Pedersen.
Art faithfully served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was united in marriage to Darlene May McMurtrey on September 3, 1949 in Rockport, Missouri. To this union two children were born, Darla and John. Art was employed with Mid American Energy for 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Art enjoyed traveling, reading, fixing things, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a huge presence in the life of his children and grandchildren and they loved him dearly and will forever miss him.
Preceding Art in death were his parents; wife, Darlene in 2007, brothers; Robert, Charles and Jess Pedersen and sister, Margie Christensen. He is survived by his children, Darla Sell and John Pedersen both of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren, Dusty and wife Jill Sell and their daughter, Jayme Parker Sell all of Emerson, Iowa; Mary and husband Bryan Pinker of Omaha, Nebraska; Joshua and Jesse Pedersen of Glenwood, Iowa; brother, Franklin and wife Katie Pedersen of Hammond, Louisiana; sister, Maurine Farnsworth of Cozad, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
