Ardath M. Bridges, 96, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2008 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born on November 25, 1912 to Ralph J. and Sophia Carrie (Trojan) Podany. Her early childhood was spent in Leigh, Nebraska.

Ardath was united in marriage to Glen Rex Bridges on March 12, 1931 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born, Darlene and Ardelis. Ardath and Glen later renewed their wedding vows at the Catholic church in Leigh, Nebraska. Glen and Ardath had resided in Long Beach, California for four years. They moved to Wiggington Farm near Bartlett, Iowa before moving to Glenwood in 1960. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a talented seamstress. Her family and friends always looked forward to her homemade cinnamon rolls and kolaches. Ardath was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood.

Preceding Ardath in death were her parents, husband Glen in 1972; brothers, Irvin, Waldo, Archie and Kenneth Podany; sister, Eileen Nunes and sister-in-law, Lucille Podany. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene & husband Arlan Ehlers of Glenwood, Iowa; Ardelis & husband Richard Weir of Monee, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Ann Alpha Edwards of Santa Anna, California; Alice Marquis of Placenta, California; brother, Arnold Podany of Clarkson, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
