Albert William Roenfeld, 89 of Mineola, Iowa passed away September 15, 2021 in Glenwood. He was born March 12, 1932 in Rural Mills County, Iowa to Albert August and Catherine Margaret (Wagner) Roenfeld. Albert was united in marriage to Elva Lorraine Merritt on Marc 21, 1953 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Tami, Teresa and Tim. Albert was a truck driver and was later employed with John Deere for 20 years then worked for Mills County Transportation for 20 years until his retirement.

Albert was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola. He was a member of the F.O.E. #3784 and had been on the Mineola Fire and Rescue for many years. Albert had a passion for hunting, trapping and fur trading.

Preceding Albert in passing were his parents, Uncle Milton Roenfeld, sister Betty and husband Richard Feller, brother-in-law Willard Jones,  and nephew Ricky Feller. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Elva Roenfeld of Mineola, Iowa; children Tami Settles of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Teresa (Vince) Foster of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Tim (Kim) Roenfeld of Glenwood, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Fern Jones of Mineola, Iowa; sister-in-law Carrie Merritt of Glenwood, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Interment, Mineola Cemetery, Mineola, Iowa.

Memorial donations may be directed to Oak Township Fire and Rescue.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Alberts passing! Find memories growing up at Albert and Elva’s house! Albert often had many small animals that he would catch and teach me about! Sending prayers of comfort and prayers to a of you! ❤️

    To my grandpa. You were truly an amazing person and you loved us so much. I am having a hard time believing this is real. I will forever cherish my memories with you and love you so much. I will miss you ❤
