Visitation: Saturday, August 27, 2022, 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Peterson Mortuary, 212 S. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa.

Graveside Services with Military Honors: Monday, August 29, 2022, 2:00 P.M., Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, Nebraska. Military Honors provided by Millard, Nebraska American Legion Post #374 and the U.S. Marines.

Alan Erwin Pierce, 68 of Glenwood, Iowa was born June 3, 1954 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Donald Gordon and Maxine Hilda (Moran) Pierce. He passed away August 20, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Cheyenne East High School. 

Alan faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed as a Customer Service Representative with Union Pacific Railroad for 35 ½ years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, wood carving crosses, collecting knives and watching westerns with The Virginian being his favorite. Alan loved windmills and making and repairing metal fans. He was a faithful Christian and will be missed by his family and friends. 

Preceding Alan in passing were his parents. Survivors include his children Nathan Pierce; Rebeka Pierce (Donald Nelligan) and their son J.D. all of Phoenix, Arizona; Ashley Pierce and daughter Elliana Bordeaux of Festus, Missouri; Tiffany and daughter Sophia Pierce and son Aydyn Lockhart of Imperial, Missouri; Shane Pierce of Glenwood, Iowa; former wife Angela Pierce of Imperial, Missouri and sister Vickie (Mike) Luna of Cheyenne, Wyoming; extended relatives and friends.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

    Uncle Alan, I have so many fond memories of you! I credit you for getting me to stop sucking my thumb, giving me my first motorcycle ride and just being someone to talk to! I love you and am glad that you are no longer suffering! I am thankful for the last visit and getting to spend time with you!!! Love Your Niece, Heather

    Uncle Allen you are going to be missed! I’m happy you are no longer in pain and can now be with your parents. I’m happy at the stories you use share with me of my dad and you having a good time. Tell him I said hello and that I love him. Love you uncle Allen. Till we meet again

    I will miss your laugh and how you always had the strongest hugs lifting me up off the ground…thank you for meeting me when I was deployed to missouri that time with shane. I love you and I’m so glad you are no longer in pain. Love your niece kim and kids

    There are no words to say how deeply sorry we are on the loss of your father Ashley, Tiffany,Shane, Becca, and Nathan. You are all (Angie) in our prayers stay strong and hold on to the memories and good times you had. He is watching over you all.
