Vivian Radford Morford Newman, 94, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Tucson, Arizona, entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2008 at Linnwood Estates in Glenwood. She was the youngest of five children born to Cyrus H. and Elizabeth May Radford Morford on January 7, 1914 in Glenwood, Iowa. Vivian graduated from Glenwood High School in 1932.

Vivian was united in marriage to Marion E. Newman on January 10, 1934

in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union one daughter, Genevieve May was born. The couple had been married 69 years when Marion passed away in 2003. Vivian served in the U.S. Navy Waves. She was employed as a computer programmer for the Federal Government until she retired. She was a member of the Saguaro Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tucson, Arizona and the First Christian Church in Glenwood. Vivian was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Legion Auxiliary Post in Glenwood.

Preceding Vivian in death were her parents, husband Marion, two sisters, Gladys Petty and Opal Branson, two brothers, Fay and Beryl Morford. She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve and husband James Mitchell of Lakewood, CO; two grandsons, Randall J. Mitchell and wife Sandra of Kingston, WA; Ronald E. Mitchell of Lakewood, CO; great-grandchildren Robert J. Mitchell and Bethany J. Mitchell; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
