Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One for over 100 years.

Taylor Harold Williams

Taylor Harold Williams, 25 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away peacefully in his sleep from natural causes on December 9, 2016 in South Bend, Indiana. He was born on June 24, 1991 in Omaha, Nebraska to Roger Harold and Georganne Peterson Williams. He was raised in Glenwood where he graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 2010.

To describe our son”_As a young boy, sweet, spirited, energetic and always loved building Legos. He loved trains and we would sit at the local depot waiting for the trains to come by. Taylor befriended the engineers and they would bring him cookies and calendars. At an early age, he knew he wanted to be an engineer!

Taylor was baptized and confirmed at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood, Iowa. He was a true Christian and steward of the Lord. Following high school, he attended Iowa State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering on May 9, 2015 and began his career with Kiewit in August of 2015.

Taylor followed his grandfather George’s “Papa’s” passion for sports, especially in track and field and his grandmother Sandy’s “Mimi’s” passion for music. He competed in the KC corporate challenge in 2016 for Kiewit placing 1st in the 100 M Dash and their relay placed 2nd. He has his medal hanging proudly at his work station in New Carlisle, Indiana.

Taylor was so proud to work for Kiewit and enjoyed all the people he met along the way. He was also loyal to his alma mater, Iowa State, his banner also hanging proudly. His fraternity, FarmHouse, was extremely essential in enhancing their motto “Builders of Men” and that they did. We thought we taught him well with manners and etiquette until he joined FarmHouse. What a difference they made in his life. As an only child, he said “now I have over 70 brothers and 2 moms!” Taylor was a modern-day Renaissance Man; brilliant, knowledgeable and proficient on a wide range of topics. He was a true patriot, displaying a love for his country through his conservative style. After hearing the news of Taylor’s passing, we received a text from one of his brothers, “I have looked up to Taylor since we first met. I’ve never met anyone with such an unbreakable positive spirit. He is always a model gentleman, so humble, thoughtful and was always there to help others out”. The deepest desire within Taylor’s heart was to make a difference in the world–and what a difference he made, more than he knew!

Taylor also had a passion for fishing, boating, snow skiing, target shooting, his motorcycle and especially LOVED his Porsche sports cars! He also had a love of agriculture and the land. His family including his FarmHouse brotherhood was most important to him. We lost him too soon, but he packed in as much as he could in the 25 years he was with us. Our precious son; your memory, wit and sense of humor will live on in our hearts forever until we meet again! Godspeed our precious son!

Preceding Taylor in passing were his maternal and paternal great-grandparents, Bernard and Maxine Roenfeldt; Harold and Louella Peterson; Harold and Gertrude Williams; Charlie and Clara Roenfeld; grandfathers, Sheldon Williams and George Peterson. Survivors include his parents, Roger and Georganne Williams of Glenwood, Iowa; grandmothers, Sandra Peterson of Glenwood, Iowa; Delores Williams of Silver City, Iowa; aunts, uncles, cousins, FarmHouse Fraternity Brothers, extended relatives and many friends.

Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa

Memorials may be made to the FarmHouse Scholarship Foundation in Memory of Taylor Harold Williams or the charity of your choice.

    Roger and Georgeanne

I was so sorry to hear of Taylors passing. Losing a child is the worst thing a parent can endure. My wife Katy and I lost our daughter Alice 19 years ago. There is not a day that goes by that we don’t thing of her. Cherish the memories and joys that you had with Taylor. It sounds like he was a fine young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family…..Brett & Katy Lincoln
