Ronald Ray Lidgett; 58 of Red Oak, IA, formerly of Glenwood and Omaha, entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2005 in Omaha,NE. He was born June 14, 1947 in Glenwood, IA to Clarence Lidgett and Velma Joanne Huffman. Ronald graduated with the class of 1966 from Glenwood Sr. High. He then enlisted into the service as a Marine serving two tours during Vietnam. Following his return home he was united in marriage to Linda Coy and to this union four children were born: Scarlett, Shari, Shana and James.

Ron had a zest for living and always loved to joke with family and friends. He always looked forward to family gatherings, where he would often be seen taking home a container of leftovers to enjoy. He was an avid Nebraska fan in every way, shape and form. Hunting, fishing, driving big cars and attending the Demolition Derby were also treasured times for Ron.

He was employed as an industrial product salesman for Farmer’s Choice.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Joanne Houtchens, step-father, Dave Houtchens and stepmother, Mary Lidgett. He is survived by his father: Clarence Lidgett of Traer, IA., children: Scarlett Lidgett & son Coltyn Lidgett of Red Oak, IA; Shari & husband Allen Courtier & daughters Zoey & Zena of Emerson, IA.; Shana Lidgett & daughters Darian & Cassandra of Red Oak, IA.; James & wife Tarene Lidgett & infant daughter on the way of Kailua Kona, HI; 4 sisters: Reva & husband Frank Potter of New Hampshire; Connie & husband Gerald Rief of Council Bluffs, IA; Kandice & husband Monte Kizzier of Battle Creek, MI; Merry Jo & husband Joe Colangelo of Grays Lake, IL; 3 brothers: Clarence “Butch” Lidgett of Las Vegas, NV; Robert & wife Julie Lidgett of Glenwood, IA; Tony & wife Amy Lidgett of Traer, IA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
