Peggy Ruth Farrell Erickson, 81 of Glenwood, Ia entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2005 at her home in Glenwood. She was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Granger, Ia to Forest F. and Dicie L. (Mathews) Scroggs. Peggy was united in marriage to Lloyd Compton on June 1, 1941. To this union two children were born, Ruth Ann and Danny L. Peggy was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood, V.F.W. Auxiliary in Plattsmouth. Peggy was later united in marriage to Max Merton Farrell on July 19, 1952. Max passed away April 8, 1987. On May 19, 1990, Peggy was united in marriage to Robert Darrell Erickson. Bob passed away Aug. 28, 1992. Peggy loved making quilts and doilies for her family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking for her family and friends. The neighbors would delight in her corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day each year and she prided herself in having the first ripe tomato from her vegetable garden. Her beautiful yard and flower gardens embellished the neighborhood and her yard was chosen for Yard of the Month. She had a special love for her bird Herbie and dog Maggie. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, brothers Harold and Leonard Scroggs and husbands Max and Bob. She is survived by her children, Ruth Ann & husband Ace Meads of Glenwood, Ia, Danny L. & wife Julaine Compton of Clearfield, Ia, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jack & wife Carmen Scroggs of P.J., Ia, Bob Scroggs of Clarinda, Ia, Gene & wife Phyllis Scroggs of Clarinda, Ia, sisters, Leona & husband Arnold Davison of Braddyville, Ia, Grace & husband Max Derry of New Market, Ia, sister-in-law, Jenny Scroggs of Clarinda, Ia, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
