To Chad and the entire Beardmore family, it is with deepest sorrow that I learned of Joe’s passing. Joe and I formed a special relationship way back in the 3rd grade in Beatrice that lasted through the years. My husband and I enjoyed our time with him, and I enjoyed many phone conversations with him over the years. He was a loving, caring man and a dear friend. He will be deeply missed by me and all who had the good fortune of knowing him. My prayers are with the Beardmore family.

  • Steve and Jody Castillo Posted July 9, 2019 8:15 am

Our deepest sympathies go out to his son Chad and family. We are extremely saddened by the passing of Joe. Steve and Joe have been coworkers for many years and a friendship was formed. The hard work Joe put in every day, the caring attitude for his coworkers and the best was his stories. Joe loved to tell his stories. Joe was our rock when Steve had some health issues, I don’t know how we would of got through without him. It is difficult to imagine him not being there. We are thankful to have gotten to know Joe and will miss him. Please know we are thinking of you all at this difficult time.

Stunned to hear that Joe had left us. We played guitar together for modern Mass at St. Joe’s Catholic Church in Beatrice. I looked so forward to seeing him again at the 50th class reunion. I’ll have to wait for that get-together in the great Beyond. God bless Joe and peace to the family.

Working with Joe at Huber was a joy. He was such a kind soul and i will miss seeing him when i go to huber to visit the guys in parts. He once gave me a little sign that meant the world to him and now it will for me as well. He would know the one with the man in the mirror. R.i.P. Joe. You will be missed.. may your son and grandson and family find peace. My world is a better place for knowing you even if only for a few short years. Thank you for being my friend and saturday work partner.

    • Cathleen Young Posted July 12, 2019 1:23 am

Audrey, I’m Joe’s sister and want to thank you for that charming anecdote. It tickled me to read it. You sound like a sweetheart yourself! May you enjoy lasting happiness.

    • Tom Beardmore Posted July 6, 2022 1:23 pm

You mean the “Hurray For Me – Dammit” cartoon? It’s a favorite in our family. Our father had it next to his bathroom mirror., so naturally, it’s been a “keeper”.

Joe was an outstanding human being. I will always miss him.

Ah, the stories I could tell…

  • Terry Taylor Posted July 13, 2019 5:46 pm
