Marian A. Ling, 90, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Pacific Junction, IA, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 23, 2007 in Council Bluffs, IA. She was born to Albert W. & Louise (Minssen) Shipley on Dec. 17, 1916 in Treynor, IA. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa with the class of 1935. She was united in marriage to William Walter Ling on Aug. 28, 1940 in Logan, IA.
Marian and Walter raised their daughters on a farm in Pacific Junction, Iowa. She resided there until Walter passed away in Dec. of 1983, then moved to Glenwood in 1984. She loved to entertain and have family and friends over for various occasions. They had fun playing cards and many different games. She was a member of the Plattview Community Club and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding Marian in death were her parents, husband Walter, sisters, Berniece Law, Hazel Shipley, Helen Mueller and Mabel Petersen. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Muller of Glenwood, IA; Barbara & husband Max Mayberry of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Shannon & husband Dave Hoyt of Papillion, NE; Christopher & wife Debbie Mayberry of Lenexa, KS; 6 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Les Petersen of Modesto, CA; nieces, nephews extended relatives and a host of friends.
