Lou Ella Plummer, age 93 years, 4 months, 4 days, died on Nov. 11, 2005 at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. Lou Ella was born in Hopkins, Missouri on July 7, 1912 and she graduated from Hopkins High School at the age of 16. She married Marvin Plummer on July 27, 1934. She moved to Glenwood in 1943 when her husband, Marvin was transferred by his employer, a grocery store chain. She worked in the bomber plant as a riveter in Omaha during World War II, was an accountant for her husband in his grocery store, and co-owner of the Dot and Lou Style Shop that she opened in Glenwood in 1944. She was a faithful member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and assisted her husband when he was church treasurer. Mrs. Plummer and her husband, Marvin, were married for 63 years prior to his death.

Lou Ella had six brothers and sisters. Brothers Kennard and Wilbur Maier and sister Velma Day preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister Beulah West of Clearmont, MO; and two brothers Charles Maier of Omaha, NE and Hubert Maier of Brighton, CO; one daughter Diane Protain of Naperville, IL; two sons, Dr. Benjamin Plummer of San Antonio, TX; Randy Plummer of Holt, MO; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
